Better Health at Work

What is Better Health at Work?

The North East Better Health at Work awards have been taken forward by all of the region's twelve Local Authorities, the NHS and the Northern TUC, with the support and endorsement from Public Health England. In the February 2017 the Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust were awarded The Silver Award.

During this application embarked on health and wellbeing campaigns such as; Race to Rio, Nutrition and Hydration Week and the Couch to 5k Running Groups.

We are now beginning our application for the next step in the process, the Gold Award. During this campaign we will be looking at sustainable health projects that fit around the multiple shift patterns within the Trust, and helping to motivate staff to make small changes that will lead to a healthier lifestyle.
