The North East Better Health at Work awards have been taken forward by all of the region's twelve Local Authorities, the NHS and the Northern TUC, with the support and endorsement from Public Health England.
In December 2017 the Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust were awarded The Gold Award. During the past year we embarked on health and wellbeing campaigns such as; Staff Running Groups, Nutrition and Hydration Week and activities on World Mental Health Day.
We are now beginning our application for the next step in the process, Continuing Excellence. During this campaign we will be looking at reducing stigma around Mental Health, and signing the Time to Change pledge. We will look to create sustainable health projects that fit around the multiple shift patterns within the Trust, and helping to motivate staff to make small changes that will lead to a healthier lifestyle.
